Hollywood: Here you come...

Today, my  (sweet, generous?!) husband, Derek upped the ante on one of our auction items for The Great Fundraising Act to raise money for Susan's cancer expenses.  He wanted to make it even more appealing and more likely to bring in fat cash for Susan. ...He added two airline tickets to Los Angeles International Airport or Burbank Airport from anywhere that United Airlines flies from the USA or Canada!  Why not make a vacation out of it?  Plus you get to clean out my kittys' litter box.  Go you! (That's a joke.  I wouldn't make you do that. But you'll need to hand feed them lobster and give them massages and hot rock treatments).

While we're on the topic of kitties, the following photo makes it looks like Ellie reproduced by budding (remember high school biology?)  But alas, no!  This is her baby brother, Ace... rest assured, you will see more of Ace in the future.
For those of you who are good at math, there are now THREE kitties!

For more details on the prize, please see yesterday's post about our auction items.  For a full list of items at the auction, please click here- and check back daily as more items are being added!  If you want to donate without partaking in the auction, please click here.

This is a link so that you can see exactly how this auction will work!

Thank you sooo much, everyone!

Q: Are you astounded that I posted twice in two days? Me too!  Have you ever visited gorgeous, stunning, traffic-free, 72-degree-every-day Los Angeles, California? Would you consider giving our brood a mani-pedi with the rest of their spa treatment?

Wow! He is pretty much awesome!
I have no idea how this live auction will actually work and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to afford the tickets, but I plan on donating (I'll be at work, which is probably a good thing, or else I would bid on all the food and go broke.)

P.S. I love Ace. The end.

If you supply enough lobster for the kitties and me both (I can eat a lot of lobster) then I might pay you for the opportunity!

You and your hubs are amazing.
Definetly in the "good peoples" categorie of life.

you both rock. this is amazing. I really really want this, and I would absolutely clean the boxes. I would feed ALL of you lobster, and I'll give the cats all mani-pedis. Ace included.

...and I'll bake you a clafouti with egg. ;)

Derek...you are a superstar. Just like your wife. If I didn't already live in LA you know I'd be all over these plane tickets. Unfortunately, I am looking for a way OUT of LA, not in. :)

I love how you champion L.A. as a wonderful city, because most people like to slam it. I love L.A. and I do think it is worth a trip, esp the snobby Manhattan peeps who think the world revolves around NYC.

This is too awesome! I could never afford that bid; but I know it will bring big bucks - so yah for Susan!
You've got to have an Ace in the hole...or at least thats where Ellie or Sam may put him if he steals their thunder! I am glad they all look so content - good times ahead ;)

Linds- me too! :-)

Abby- Janetha has a new post on how the auction works. And I love Ace too.

Missy- thank you!

Kristina- apparently today walking with Eden, we were talking about Clafoutis and I apparently butchered the pronunciation! oops.

Pure- I can't wait to see how much it gets- it's worth THOUSANDS of dollars, but opening bid is $100

Julie- that would be awesome!

Ameena- I was going to put in a clause that you can't comment on LA or you'll scare away all prospective bidders :-)

Sophia- well it is wonderful! I was born & raised here and I think I turned out ok. :-)

Missy- Ellie has tried to put Ace in the hole many times already- he must be a masochist because he loves the abuse :-)

I am just amazed at how you have all come together. I wish I could afford even a portion of this but I'm pretty much living in poverty...thanks to health issues so I so feel for Susan.

I'm going to take a peek at what is being auctioned and see what I can offer...never even tried eBay so I'm a total newbie (:

Wish I could fly out there...heck I would just come to meet your kitties.

I knew right from the first time I read your blog that you were amazing (:

This is fantastic! I'm so excited to see how the auction goes.

Three kitties? AWWW SO much cuteness! I absolutely love cats despite being deathly allergic. I used to have one and built up an immunity after a while. So worth it.

McIntosh- that last line that you said might have been one of the kindest comments ever. Thank you.

Amanda- I'm excited too- we are praying the site doesn't crash!!
